Now is a great time to clear the clutter out of your guest rooms, fluff those pillows and make your home ready for special visitors. These decoration and preparation pointers will help you plan and pull off a great visit for you and your holiday guests.

Start with a clean slate

Make sure your whole home is clean before you start to decorate. Work from the top down in your guest room. Start by dusting the fan then clean the windows, dressers and save the floor for last. This method will keep you from having to clean again after the dust settles.

Make the room feel like home

Make sure your holiday guests stay is happy and comfortable by setting up an inviting space for them. Pile the throw pillows and comfy blankets high on your guest bed. Make sure the sheets are crisp and clean. If you want to make your guests feel right at home make sure the following items are in the room: water bottles, a charging strip for devices, light reading material, an alarm clock and some snacks.

A clean bathroom complete with a holiday bathroom basket is a great touch. If your guests are sharing a bathroom, place a basket in each guest room. Towels, razors, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, bar soap, wash cloths and a toothbrush are great items your holiday guests will appreciate.

Pleasant scents and fragrances are a wonderful touch. Consider placing fragrant, fresh flowers out in your bathrooms and guest rooms.
