Among its team members, the Jenkins team boasts over 110 years of design and construction experience! An extensive hiring process, along with the high standards set by existing team members, make it possible to attract and maintain the top talent in the custom home building industry. Jenkins Custom Homes is one of the few custom home builders in Central Texas whose owners both hold MBA’s as well as undergraduate degrees from Texas A&M University. Add to that the years of experience in construction of the Jenkins team, and this may be one of the most educated and knowledgeable teams in the industry.
2. Our Dedication to the Science of Building
Quality and integrity are the hallmarks of both Shan and Jenkins Custom Homes. Shan holds an undergraduate degree in Construction Science from Texas A&M University as well as an MBA from St. Thomas University. He places a focus on the science of construction, ensuring the quality both behind the walls and in the finish-out is as close to perfect as possible so that the homeowner may thrive in their new environment.
Shan Jenkins has a unique ability to listen and discern each client’s vision for their project while also bringing his vast construction expertise to the conversation. This, combined with his focus on the science of building, allows him to design and build beautiful, lasting, healthy homes that are perfectly customized to meet each client’s individual needs. Shan’s background in commercial construction, working almost 10 years for companies like Hensel Phelps and Kellogg Brown & Root, gave him the opportunity to work on large projects like Power Optimization Plants, Chemical Plants, and even the very first Recycling Facility in Texas. The organizational skills he learned while working for these industry leaders carried over when he started Jenkins Custom Homes. 4. Our True Design+Build Business Model
Unlike the traditional model of having an architect design your plans then sending them to builders for bids, we design your home to suit your lifestyle, lot and budget. We work closely each and every day with the cost of labor and materials so are well aware of the construction cost of today’s homes. We visit with you to learn about your lifestyle, how your home should function and flow, how you spend your time in the home, how you entertain, etc. Before our architects come up with a design, they will visit your lot. It’s so important that the design flow with the lot, not fight it. It’s important to capitalize on views and ensure privacy if desired. Our feasibility study, which includes a floorplan, elevation renderings and a 600+ line item cost estimate (that we guarantee to be within 5% of the final cost to build) is designed to give you a great idea of exactly what you could have built on your lot to suit your lifestyle, for a minimal time and financial investment on your part.
