HGTV’s Million Dollar Rooms

HGTV’s Million Dollar Rooms is so inspiring. The Game Room in our Million Dollar Space opens up to the Outdoor Living and has a pass-through to the dedicated Media Room. Here is a description about each space and list of amenities, starting with the Game Room itself:

The function of the Game Room:
From the nightcap after dinner to hosting a large Super Bowl party, this room will accommodate it all. The sports enthusiast can watch all the games at once, without ever picking up the remote, and enjoy a game of billiards all the while (Although the photo shows a game table, the owners have replaced it with a billiards table). The cigar smoke will waft right outside, since the wall opens up to the outdoors. The wet bar will accommodate the favorite drink of every guest, even the wine enthusiast, because the spacious temperature-controlled wine room can accommodate even fine scotches, etc. At night, when the pool lights up and the night air beckons, this room becomes the place to be! This was a favorite space of those who visited the Parade

of Homes.

List of Amenities of the Game Room:
Five (5) – 27” TVs in their own niches and one(1) – 60” TV for viewing different sports programs similar to a sports bar, room for a billiards table in the center of the room, 15’ fully-retractable sliding pocket door which opens up the wall entirely to the outdoors, slate floors with 1”x1” rainforest slate inset, stone under the solid granite bar, herringbone pine ceilings with pine beams inset into a sheet rock niche, Bar with kitchenette includes copper sink, world’s first microwave drawer, refrigerator, ice maker, lots of cabinet space, Alder cabinets, blue barracuda granite counter tops with double-laminated edges, temperature-controlled wine room which holds approximately 600 bottles of wine with mahogany cabinetry-style racks hand built on-site; wet bar features a pass-through door for passing drinks and popcorn to the Media Room next door.

Here is some more detail about the adjoining outdoor living space:
The design of this outdoor space is truly distinctive. Modeled after the home’s three-story layout, the three levels outside turned the lot’s biggest challenge into its best feature, namely the fact it is situated on a 30 foot cliff. Deliberate in its resort-like feel, the first level includes the water sheer, infinity-edge pool, complete outdoor kitchen, gazebo and sunning deck. Easy to miss, but impossible to forget, the gazebo – located adjacent to the outdoor kitchen – provides the perfect place for morning coffee. The infinity-edge pool, a resort unto itself, contains a spa with overflow, a beach area, and 3 bench seats. The next level, which includes the catch basin for the pool, is a more organic area for reflection with its lush landscaping. The final level is a large, more traditional flat yard created by the massive excavation which took place during construction of the home.

List of Amenities at the Outdoor Living space:
Window wall which opens the Game Room up to the Outdoor Living, a built-in floating bench in the pool, ash gray slate on the floors with inlay 1”x 1” rainforest slate, Outdoor Kitchencomplete with Wolf grill, sink, under-counter refrigerator, and lots of counter top space (solid slate), ceiling fans and stained tongue-and-groove Pine ceilings, sun deck with natural stone in a Versailles pattern, Gazebo with fabulous views of the lake with ceiling fan & drapes, pool with 22-foot-wide infinity edge overlooking the lake and 100% glass tile at water line and at catch basin, sheet of water falling from first story above, bar area in the pool complete with 3 benches & bar, beach area with water bubbler, 8’ spa with overflow to pool, crystal blue plaster-like product, 4 stairs leading to lower deck which is irrigated & beautifully landscaped, stepping stones to the lowest level below which is also irrigated & landscaped.

The Media Room is also an amazing space. The equipment in the room is top-of-the-line and provides the home owners with a true “movie” experience. The equipment is housed in cabinetry located in the crawlspace and concealed by hidden panels in the Media Room. There is cove lighting behind a panel detail, highlighting the top of the wall, which is curved upward to the ceiling.
