Docents Needed

“Oh! The places you’ll go!” exclaimed Dr. Seuss, and we want to take you there, but we need volunteers to lead the way!

Docents will greet guests and answer questions at our local Parade of Homes in May of 2017.

Docents will be trained by our knowledgeable architects and builders and will learn how the home went from an idea to a luxury masterpiece. Docents will be asked to commit to one four-hour shift. This is a one-time commitment.

Meet interesting locals and visitors, learn about the unique Modern Farmhouse architecture, and share your knowledge of the wonderful places that share this unique style.

599 Vendemmia Bend, the Jenkins Parade Home, Lakeway, Texas

This home was designed, built, and finished out in the Modern Farmhouse vernacular made popular by Joanna Gaines of the HGTV show “Fixer Upper”.  Included are features such as hidden rooms, massive window walls, and a loft with a story to tell. We need docents to tell that story to our many guests who will visit the home during the Spring Parade of Homes. All docents will receive a commemorative t-shirt from “The Farmhouse” and a free ticket to see all of the homes in the Parade of Homes.

Docent orientation & schedule: Complete one training session on Wednesday, May 3rd from 10 – 11:30am at the Parade Home. Docents will be asked to work a minimum of one shift during the Parade of Homes.

Apply Now!  The dates and times for the Parade are shown below. Please select two dates/times that you can serve, and we will contact you with the final date/time selected. Thank you!
